Wynne has been interested in art all her life but did not always have the time to pursue it.  Just before retiring, she took a course in basic drawing and painting at the Bermuda College but after taking two semesters of Art History with Dr Judith Hayward, also at the Bermuda College, she was really hooked and started painting on a regular basis.

She has been influenced by many artists: Constable, for skies; Turner, as a precursor to Impressionism; Renoir and other French Impressionists; and William Merrit Chase the American Impressionist.

Wynne enjoys painting in abstract and impressionist styles.  She particularly likes Cezanne and Matisse.  Rembrandt, in her opinion, is the greatest artist of all time and she sometimes wonders what he would think of our current attempts.

Although basically self taught she now receives instruction from Emma Ingham in Bermuda and Suzan Stuller, NWA, in Richmond, Virginia.  Wynne paints in acrylic on canvas and is primarily a studio based artist although she also occasionally paints with Plein Air groups both in Bermuda and Virginia.
