Vaughn Evans

My underlying self is someone who loves to draw. I love to use colour. I enjoy the physical act of mark making on a surface. The quiet places that I can discover on this busy little island help me find solace with my maker. I have time to stop and stare – it is so visually exciting! I hope to communicate the magic of what happens by my absorption with what is in front of me. If that is my underlying self – so be it.

In 1992 Vaughan’s pastel titled “Cavepool Walsingham” was one of the five selected to represent Bermuda in the U.N.E.S.C.O. – sponsored touring contemporary art exhibition titled CARIB ART.

In June 1994 Vaughan’s pastel “Banana Secret” was purchased by the Bermuda Society of Arts for its permanent collection.

Has work on show in Bermuda House Gallery, St. Georges. Harbour Gallery, Front Street, Hamilton and Heritage House Gallery.

Windjammer Gallery Family Show Three Plus One May, 1994. Windjammer Gallery Group Show November, 1995. One of 12 local artists to have their work selected for Bermuda Fire & Marine (B.F.&M) 1996 Calendar.
