Low pressure developing along the U.S. mid-Atlantic coast will deepen rapidly and move northeast, producing strong winds this afternoon with gale force gusts possible by this evening. An associated cold front will move through Saturday morning followed by moderate to strong winds and mainly fair weather Saturday.

A large area of high pressure over the eastern U.S. will be quasi-stationary through Sunday, then begin to slowly drift eastward. This high will pass to our north Tuesday night and on to our northeast. Strong to gale winds and showery weather is in store for today. Winds begin to ease this evening, becoming moderate by Monday night and light to moderate on Tuesday.
