Showers & thunder early, clearing by midday

A passing cold front brings showers and thunderstorms early this morning. Strong winds with possible gusts to gale force will ease to moderate by midday as the front clears through. Expect mainly moderate winds the rest of today and Sunday in the wake of the front.

Occasional showers, winds becoming strong from midday.

As a cold front lingers near to our south, expect occasional showers today. Low pressure developing along the U.S. mid-Atlantic coast will deepen rapidly and move northeast, producing strong winds this afternoon with gale force gusts possible by this evening. An associated cold front will move through Saturday morning followed by moderate to strong winds and mainly fair weather Saturday.

Winds increase later this morning as a cold front approaches. Isolated showers arrive this evening and persist through Friday afternoon as the front stalls. Winds and seas increase Friday night ahead of a second cold front that brings heavier showers late Friday night into early Saturday morning. Winds decrease Saturday night and conditions continue to settle through Sunday.

High pressure maintains light winds and moderate seas through this afternoon. Moderate to strong winds arrive late Thursday morning and showers begin in the late afternoon. The front stalls over the area through Friday afternoon. Winds increase late Friday night as another cold front passes. Moderate seas become rough by Saturday morning while winds decrease late Saturday night.

As high pressure begins to build across the region today, seas become moderate and winds gradually become light. Settled conditions will then persist through Wednesday afternoon. Unsettled conditions return Wednesday night in advance of another cold front bringing widespread showers to the region Thursday.

High pressure over the U.S. east coast will slowly drift eastward, moving to our north by Tuesday night. Moderate to strong winds, and showery weather are in store for today. Winds becoming light to moderate Tuesday and Wednesday. Another cold front will bring strong winds and showers Thursday. Rough to very rough seas today fall slight to moderate Tuesday morning.

Strong to gale force winds today, easing tonight and tomorrow

A large area of high pressure over the eastern U.S. will be quasi-stationary through Sunday, then begin to slowly drift eastward. This high will pass to our north Tuesday night and on to our northeast. Strong to gale winds and showery weather is in store for today. Winds begin to ease this evening, becoming moderate by Monday night and light to moderate on Tuesday.

In the wake of yesterday’s cold front, strong winds and a few showers are expected for the weekend. Strong winds may reach gale force at times during the day Sunday. Seas build rough to very rough Sunday. Winds ease to moderate Monday night and light to moderate Tuesday.
