SYLVIA MAY

Sylvia May began her journey as an artist when she moved to Bermuda since 2009. She’s had no formal art training apart from the occasional workshop taught by visiting and local artists. Her work has benefitted greatly from the support and guidance of the talented artists in the Bermuda Plein Air group and the Friday morning IWC art group. She paints primarily in watercolour, and but also dabbles with with oils and acrylics. Sylvia is also a musician, author, and photographer, and believes that tapping into our creativity fulfills us in a way that nothing else can. “Friends of Hospice is a charity that I believe in. Compassionate end of life care is a significant element in facilitating one’s passing in as positive a manner as possible. The values of the Friends of Hospice exemplify my own and I feel privileged to support them with my installation painting.”

LEE KITSON

Lee was born in England and raised in Bermuda, where her family has had roots since the island’s first settlements. She graduated with a degree in fine arts and graphic design at the School of Fine Arts, Boston University, in 1985. She works hard to capture, in true impressionist fashion, the many light and shadow plays that the passing days bring to each landscape she paints
