The Serjeant’s Cup Marine Art Prize 2026

The Bermuda Arts Centre is honoured to host the 2026 Serjeant’s Cup Marine Art Prize, celebrating excellence in marine and nautical art.

Call for Artists

The Serjeant’s Cup honours artists whose work captures the enduring spirit, beauty, and power of the sea. Inspired by Bermuda’s deep maritime heritage, the award recognizes outstanding artistic interpretations of our relationship with the ocean and coastal environment.

Artists are invited to submit original works that demonstrate a strong connection to the nautical world. Subject matter may include:

  • Boats, ships, and working vessels
  • Harbours, docks, and waterfront activity
  • Open ocean, changing weather, and marine atmosphere
  • Coastal architecture and maritime structures
  • Island life shaped by the sea
  • The emotional presence and influence of the ocean

Both traditional and contemporary approaches are welcome. The judges will be looking for work that conveys authenticity, artistic excellence, and a meaningful connection to the maritime environment.

The Serjeant’s Cup will be awarded to the artist whose work most powerfully embodies the spirit of the sea.
